who do I get in for rendering?

    Postby jmcd » Sat Jul 28, 2007 7:26 pm

I'd really like the outside of my house rendered (if that's the right thing to ask for that is!!)
Basically my house is all lumpy with some cracks in places..looks awful. A neighbour had theirs done recently. The blokes made all the walls smooth and I thought it looked great - but then they pebbledashed it! I'd like to get the pre-pebbledash look hopefully.
Being a single mum I don't want to get ripped off, so I want to ask for the right thing and know that I'm getting a fair price ! So who do I ring for the job (ie what bit in yellow pages!), what do I ask for and how much can I expect to pay?
Oh it's a fair size 1920's semi with an extension on the back.
    Thanks loads !

    Hi,
A plasterer is who would render your house for you.
You can look under plasterers and screeders in the yellow pages, or even just phone a local builder as they will have a plasterer on board for sure.
Just say you want the outside of your house rendered, its a easy as that.!
As for price just get a couple of qoutes to make a comparison as everyone has different rates, just remember cheaper is not always better and you should ask for references from the plasterer or builder before agreeing to anything.

Go to our Locate a Specialist page on the website and look for a plasterer in the area you need. All the trades on that site have been thorughly vetted, have the correct insurances and come with refernces.
