    wire ing ceiling rose to ceiling

    hi
    i got a big problem with three grey wires coming through ceiling each grey wire as one red one black and one green.i put the green earths together and put the red lives together. but i ended up with to black lives and one neutrel black where do i put the extra live black


    please can any one help pleaes

    See the Projects Section - there's a good diagram in there.

    The black that is live is on the switch line and should be sleeved to show it's live.

    The black with red sleeve goes to line on light and other two blacks go to neutral on light. One black will be neutral feed to lamp, One black will be neutral return from next lamp, and one will be switched line (live) to lamp at that rose. I assume you are using a meter or the like to say two lives on black one is a true live or line as we should now call it and the other is made live through other lamps further along the circuit which is why we use the word line as neutral can also be live. This is a regular problem look at projects or other posts and I am sure you will find what you need to know. But please be careful you really shouldn't do live working electricity bits hard!
