Wiring a Switch in Bedroom to Supply 2nd Bedroom and Loft Lighting?

Post by dgoo43 » Mon Dec 08, 2014 3:58 pm

Hi. Hopefully someone may be able to help - I have am close to giving up having spent so much time on this! Bedroom light switch. 9 wires coming in, 3 blue, 3 brown, 3 neutral. The lights to the attic and next room must be on the same loop. I can wire it so the bedroom works, but then the only way the other 2 lights can be switched on is if that bedroom light is already on. What am I doing wrong? Exactly what type of switch so I need to buy (1 gang, 1 way or 1 gang, 2 way) and then how should the wires go!? I have looked at lots of diagrams, the 'instructions' in the packs are certainly no use (to me!) and I feel like I have tried every method.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

In the main the power comes to the ceiling rose and from there only the line wires go to the switch so any extra light has to be wired from the ceiling rose not the light switch.
