Wiring Box Inside Replacement Dimmer Switch Upside Down?

by ElliotW88 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 7:58 pm

Hi,

An electrician came round today and fixed my light but I need a new dimmer switch. I bought a replacement (picture attached), however one of the black boxes inside appears to be upside down? Both the boxes in the one which needs replacing have the wire inputs at the bottom, this has one at the bottom and one at the top. Is there a way to turn one around? The wiring inside doesn't appear long enough to go to the top.

Thanks,

It is done for better cooling either buy a different switch or extend one pair of wires.
