    Wiring light switch (pull switch already wired)

    Postby Bighandal » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:34 am

    I've got the following :
    Pull switch (3 terminals)
    1 = 1 x Black & 1 x Yellow
    2 = 1 x blue , 1 x red
    3 = 1 x red

    Light (3 blocks of terminals)
    1 = 1 wire to light, 1 x black, 1 x black
    2 = 1 x red, 1 x red, 1 x red
    3 = 1 wire to light , 1 x black

    Cable into switch box
    1 x yellow
    1 x blue
    1 x red
    1 x earth

    Switch
    L1
    L2
    Com
    earth (I know this one !!)

    Which of the wires goes where to the L1 / L2 / Com terminals ?
    Many thanks

    I would say Red to Com and other two (Yellow and Blue) to L1 and L2 does not matter which way around as long as Com is correct.
    If you look at http://www.ericpalmer.fsnet.co.uk/Lighting.html this shows a number of diagrams to how two way switches are wired if you want to understand what you are doing.
    I am assuming standard wiring and the red wire in pull switch is also wired to com. It is simply like for like with the methods I show.
