Wood preservative stains on inside of summerhouse

I want to paint the untreated internal wooden walls of my summerhouse, but there are areas where the external coating of dark wood preservative have soaked through. I think I will need to prime the surface, but how can I cover up the dark stains so that I can paint the walls a light colour?
