Woodburning Stove Problem With Black Substance Around Flue

by Woodburn1 » Wed Oct 25, 2017 8:30 pm

Hi,

First time posting here. I have put my woodburning stove for the second time and have notice the marks in the photos appear as well as a black substance around the flue. Can someone advise me what these may be and if this is normal for a new woodburning stove?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo

We had a wood burning stove and had similar problems we were told it was because we used damp wood or unseasoned wood which creates a tar like substance in the flu disgusting stuff. I would seek professional help if you have been using dry seasoned wood but I am only going by what we were told not through any professional knowledge. Good Luck
