wooden double gate and brick post

Hi everybody,
I would like to know how to hang a double gate {6 ft high) on a brick post.
I don't know whether to use a hook type hinge glued with raisin to make it more solid to bear the weight. Please advise me as i'm a novice,

what type of gate is it? timber or iron? does it come with hinges? have you given any thought to the weight? is your brick pillar structurally able to take it without becoming dangerously unbalanced?
