Workbench strength and info on vertical compression loads

by Alip » Fri Jun 03, 2016 10:07 pm

I have a Triumph Tiger 100 of 1960 vintage which requires some maintenance.I have a quantity of C16 63x38 timber which I would like to use to make a workbench from.I have come across tables showing loadings for various spans but nothing for vertical compression loads.Would anyone know the answer and if its on the low side would doubling the legs up double the load they could carry.
Any thoughts gratefully received
