cluncking sound from front of car steering

i have a 1.8 renault laguna 1997 with power steering when i slow down to turn into my drive way or into a parking position i can hear knocking noises from the front of the car

A colleague of mine had noises from his power steering, which only needed the fluid in the reservoir to be topped-up. ( that was a Laguna )

does it sound like a clicking noise and are you on full lock when it happens if this is the case then it could be the inner or outer constant Velocity(CV) Joints on the drive shaft presuming the car is front wheel drive
