I've got an ongoing problem with my car, and being absolutely clueless and currently skint, I thought I'd put my problem out there.

After the recent snow I've had a problem. My car 'judders' when I start it up, and driving is jerky with all but the lightest touches on the accelerator, and is at it's worst with harder acceleration. I assumed that this was water on the electrics (a problem that caused the juddering previously and was cured with good 'ol WD40) From my extremely limited knowledge of cars, I'm guessing that this is a misfire as my WD40 fix is not doing the trick.

Any advice on what I should be doing to diagnose this problem and hopefully fix it? The credit crunch has bit me very firmly in the pocket and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay a fortune for something I can do myself.

Thanks in advance for any help
