Coring
The core drilling of a sample of rock, soil, or concrete to obtain a test sample.
Cork tile
Tile made from cork particles bound and pressed into sheets and covered with a protective wearing finish.
Corkboard
Compressed and baked granulated cork used in flooring and sound conditioning and as a vibration absorber.
Corner bead
An L-shaped, light gauge metal strip used to finish drywall and plaster wall angles and corners.
Corner bracket
A fitting attached to a door frame at the upper hinge corner, used for mounting an exposed overhead door closer.
Corner post
(1) A glazing mullion in the corner of a structure that retains glazing in both walls. (2) A vertical member located at the corner of a timber structure.

Cornice
(1) An ornamental moulding of wood or plaster that encircles a room just below the ceiling. (2) An ornamental topping that crowns a structure. (3) An exterior ornamental trim at the meeting of the roof and wall. This type of cornice usually includes a bed moulding, a soffit, a fascia, and a crown moulding.
Cornice lighting
Accent lighting that is positioned high on a wall behind a shield and distributes light along the wall.
Corporation
An association of individuals established under certain legal requirements. A corporation exists independently of its members, and has powers and liabilities distinct and apart from its members.
Corridor
A long, interior passageway, usually with doors opening to rooms, apartments, or offices and leading to an exit.
Corrosion
The oxidation or eating away of a metal or other material by exposure to chemical or electrochemical action such as rust.
Corrosion inhibitor
A protective layer or coating of material, paint, or other surface finish applied to prevent oxidation of, or chemical attack on, the base material.
Corrosive
Descriptive of a substance that causes corrosion.
Corrugated aluminum
Sheet aluminum that has been rolled into a parallel wave pattern to impart stiffness.
Corrugated metal
Sheet metal that has been rolled into a parallel wave pattern for stiffness and rigidity.
Corrugated roofing
Corrugated metal or fibreglass mounted on rafters as sheet roofing.
Corrugated siding
Siding made of sheet metal or asbestos-cement composition board and used for siding on factories and other nondecorative buildings. By corrugating the material, the structural strength is increased.
Cost
The total expenditure in dollars approved after the completion of a project.
