A grandmother from Cumbria has won a national competition run by B&Q. Jean Holden from Keswick was nominatedby her two year old grandson Ollie, after helping redecorate the family’s new home and has won £1000 of B&Q vouchers.

B&Q launched the competition to acknowledge the support and DIY skills that grandparents have and which they are passing down to their families.

Jean’s DIY help included decorating the kitchen and bedrooms, painting the garden fence and putting up a new ceiling rose. Ollie’s parents said “Jean really is an inspiration to the whole family and it is fantastic how she has helped transform our house.”
