The autumn days are here, and it is traditionally the time that building plans get planned, as we contemplate the projects we want to start in the new year.
This is a great time to go and get inspiration from the National Home Improvement Show, which is on from the 27-29 September at Olympia in London. Here, we give you a round up of what’s on at the show.
For Decorating and Interior Design ideas you should head over to this section of the show, where you will see the latest innovative design ideas as well as the more established companies such as Dulux, who are offering a drop-in design clinic, or you could book a free 15 minute design session with Real Homes contributor Julia Kendal in the Ask the Experts section – see below
Ask The Experts – The Advice Centre
Where you can get answers to your particular questions about your build, whether it is planning, buying land, Eco Building, gardening, raising finance, or how to go about a tricky technical problem. The expert team includes The City Gardener, Matt James, and Real Homes Magazine Editor, Michael Holmes – see a full list of the Ask Experts panel and what their areas of interest are.
Tricks of the Trade Theatre
Mike Edwards from DIY Doctor will be demonstrating techniques for plastering and tiling on the Tricks of the Trade Theatre. He will also be giving advice on Avoiding Cowboy Builders. These presentations are repeated for all three days of the show, there is a guide to what’s on when if you follow the link above to the National Home Improvement Show’s website.
There will be over 300 specialist companies at the show to give you loads of ideas and inspiration if you are planning a new build, self build, extension, or renovation project.
Real Homes LIVE!
There are two Real Homes Live Seminar theatres which feature talks from experts in all fields of building and DIY. There are also twenty-minute talks running throughout the whole show at the Masterclass Theatre.
Kitchen and Bathroom Zone
Come and see the latest designs and innovations. Most of you say that these two areas are the most important part of the house, so why not come and see what you can include in your designs?
As you would expect there is also a lot of focus on Eco products, services and practices. Many of the exhibitors are showcasing their eco-friendly products and the Ask The Experts section can help you with your design options and choices to make your build more eco friendly.
