UK’s FLOOD-IT Merger with Apollo – Germany’s premium LED Manufacturer

Posted on April 20, 2015 by DIY Doctor

LED lighting manufacturers Apollo and the makers of FLOOD-IT lights, eKonomical Holdings Limited, have announced their merger this month.

Based in Hamburg, Germany Apollo Light Group are manufacturers and distributors of LED Lights throughout Europe, and have been looking for a growing company within the LED marketplace who specialise in the distribution, marketing, and sales of quality LED products and solutions. Devon-based eKonomical Holdings Limited fitted this profile perfectly.

Founded in 2013 the makers of FLOOD-IT, eKonomical Holdings, trades internationally in the USA, UK, and Europe. FLOOD-IT is a range of premium-quality, innovative, robust, cordless, rechargeable LED floodlights.

Regular readers of our site will know that DIY Doctor are fans of FLOOD-IT products, which are great as site-lights for building and renovation  projects. Not surprisingly the brand is fast becoming the lighting tool of choice for professional tradesmen across many industry sectors. eKonomical report that the brand is growing exponentially, both in sales and profits.

The merger is the next step in the rising fortunes of the UK company:

“Formalizing our relationship with our manufacturing partner offers the expanded group companies an incredible opportunity for both production and sales across new and existing international markets and industry sectors to become a truly global player within the LED industry.

We will be able to leverage our current distributor network not only to sell Apollo’s market leading LED tube range, but additionally exciting new lighting solutions, as varied as home security lighting solutions to ATEX-rated lighting approved for use within the mining, oil, and gas industries. The combination of eKonomical Holdings Ltd and Apollo Light Group creates and exciting opportunity for our companies and our customers.”

Steve Dandy, UK Managing Director, eKonomical UK.

The Apollo Light Group evolved from GLS (Green Light Systems), was founded in 2007. It provides cost-effective LED lightning solutions for both outdoor and indoor use. Employing over 250 people, Apollo Light Group operates two high-performance production facilities in Hamburg, Germany and Shenzhen, China.

“Merging the FLOOD-IT brand, together with the marketing and sales skills of the eKonomical Team, to form the Apollo Light Group positions the Company very positively to expand both quicker, and with greater confidence, it is undoubtedly a win:win deal.”

Says Dag Kleveland, Chairman, of Apollo Lighting Group

“We are delighted this product is attracting international attention. As soon as we spotted it we knew it would prove to be a popular tool for people working on building projects. We love that they are sturdy and reliable as well as being so portable and easy to position.”

Mike Edwards DIY Doctor comments on the merger.
