Rainy Day Trust Provide a Safety Net for DIY Employees
The Rainy Day Trust are the biggest charity within the DIY sector, and this week Gorilla Glue Europe has announced it has become a partner.
The Managing Director of Gorilla Glue, Simon Damp said:
We’re really proud to have partnered up with The Rainy Day Trust. They are a unique charity who provide help and support to home improvement professionals and this is a cause we really wanted to champion so we’re looking forward to all the aspects that Gorilla Glue can get involved with.
The Rainy Day Trust is the only charity which helps people who have worked in the UK’s home improvement industry. This includes DIY and Hardware Stores, Builders’ Merchants, Garden Centres, and Cookshops, plus any of the manufacturers, distributors or retailers who supply them. The partner scheme was set up in 2011 by the trust, and has since then seen dozens of companies sign up lending their support to the charity.
The charity provides help in the form of payment of utility bills, household maintenance, travel expenses and residential fees for ex-employees within the Home Improvement sector.
Gorilla Glue intends to get involved in regular events run by the trust, helping to raise awareness of the charity and supporting employees of the DIY trade. Bryan Clover, CEO at the Rainy Day Trust added:
We are delighted to welcome Gorilla Glue as Partners supporting the invaluable work we do for those in financial need.
With more than a million current and past employees in the home improvement profession, the Rainy Day Trust has seen a disturbing increase in the number of applications for assistance submitted by people who have seen their working life tragically cut short.
No doubt the guys from Gorilla Glue can make all the difference when it comes to providing someone with the help and support they need to get them back on their feet.
