2 gang 2 way switch problems

i just got a 2gang 2 way toggle switch to replace an old dimmer switch i rewired it as per the old switch but nothing happened there are 4 wires that go to the switch but the problem is they are all red in colour how do i find out whats live and whats not and how do the wires go onto the switch?

You need a multi meter or a continuity meter to identify cables,
there are all switch wires and it was common years ago for them to have red cores, you need to find the line/live feeds they will be two, one for each gang they go to com/L connection on switch and the two switch wires left over go to L1 or L2 on each gang. Providing you don't join the line/lives up on same gang you should not blow any fuse/breakers.
