2 live switches

Post by Dastley » Sun Nov 28, 2010 2:27 pm

I presume you can have 2 live switches into 1 light connection, but how do all the wires get fitted?
do the 2 live switches go into the same connector and the 2 live into the same connectors??
do the other feeds have to go anywhere in particular??

It's called two way switching and the two switches are connected together like to like. i.e.

S1 to S1, S2 to S2, and Com to Com. The line goes to S1 as well. The light is connected to S2 as well.

If S1 and S2 are swapped it does not matter. As long as the Com goes to Com and no where else.

sorry just looked in projects section and since Newey & eyres wholesalers have been doing the wiring drawings all the useful ones seem have been removed!
I don't know why and will be asking moderators why.
There used to be really good drawings of all types of switching methods in colour!
try googleing 2 way switching.
