3 Black Wires and 1 Switched Live Coming From Ceiling

Post by andrew0403 » Sat Apr 01, 2017 6:37 pm

Hi
A track wire lighting transformer was not working. This was removed and a fuse replaced.

There are 3 black wires coming from the ceiling, 2 in one sleeve and the other is in a separate sleeve; additionally there is a switched live wire.

There is a fused terminal block for the transformer with a live and neutral connection. The fuse on this block is a 1.6A glass fuse.

My question is do the 3 black wires get placed in the neutral connection of the terminal and the switched live connected to the live terminal.

(Mains to the terminal block and 12v out after the transformer).

Thanks in advance.

The cables need to be identified. It is impossible to tell you what there function is purely by core colour and pictures.
If you did not make a note and mark them up, prior to disconnecting, you will now need to test them out, using electrical test equipment.
Stuffing the earths up in the ceiling void is not the done thing either.
