4 gang to 2 gang switch after removing two lights

by stuarthyde » Sun Jul 19, 2020 8:13 pm

I have disconnecteed two lights in a 4 gang switch as I no longer need them. Is there a work around to avoid replacing the whole switch box and filling in the space left by the larger box, by obtaining a 2 switch cover which is the same size as a 4 switch one, ie the double size.
If so where can I find one
Thanks

I am not aware of an off the shelf 2 gang switch on a 4 way pattress.

However it is possible to "make one" There is a "system" whereby you can assemble any combination of a variety of switches, indicators, and blanks. It is known as a "grid system" (The switches are known as grid switches) there are several makes (non-interchangeable) so the choice is yours.

I should point out there is nothing wrong with leaving the switch you already have as it is.

Many thanks. I can fing 3 gang grid switches. I think i will probably just leave it in place in case future generations want to re install them. It seemed a simple ask but unfortunatly doesnt fit with availablity
