A little DIY misadventure drilling through pipe

Postby DIYJunkie101 » Wed Aug 23, 2023 11:46 am

While drilling into my floor to fit a wardrobe I have accidentally pierced a clean hole in a pipe. The pipe looks like a 1/2" grey PVC water pipe but I also have underfoor heating.

I'd much appreciate any advice on how I can fix this

a. Is this a water pipe or could it be for underfloor heating?
b. How best can I patch the damaged pipe? Will I have to open up more of the floor and replace it or can I do something easier?
c. If the former, how can I do a temporary repair to keep the house functional in the interirm?

Hi diyjunkie101,
Speedfit do a sliding repair kit for this situation but don’t forget to use inserts. Check the size of pipe you are dealing with.
