Can anyone advise if this doorbell is hard wired please. I am replacing it with a wireless one just want to remove the button on the front of the house (screws are rusted) There is a space for batteries i think it is a chime bell Friedland 6 could it have batteries and still be hardwired ? or can i just remove it and just tape the ends
Hi zippy 500, This type of doorbell must be hard wired whether it has batteries or a transformer. Remove the bell push and touch the wires together - if the bell rings you need to locate and disable the transformer, if not cut off the wires and fit your wireless one. Regards S.
