Antique furniture woodscrews

by dajh » Sun Jul 08, 2007 10:39 am

I am restoring a large victorian roll top desk that was designed to be dismantled for easy transport and for passing through doors etc. My problem is finding a supplier for the large but short wood screws that are needed to hold the assembled desk together. The sizes are 1/2" x 10 and 3/4" x 10. Does anyone know where I can purchase a dozen of each? Normal suppliers such as Screwfix can only offer the modern ranges of screws Cheers, Doug :?

I think I may well have exactly the items you are looking for.
I deal in tools, hardware, salvage etc.
The one I have are the original items, unused and have slotterd heads not crosshead.
They are most definitely not reproduction nor are they foreign.
They were made when Sheffield produced items of which we were both proud and renowned!
