I have a building application in with the council (Scotland) but want to move ahead with a door into garage from kitchen while i wait.
The wall is a double skin cavity wall - gap for door is about 900mm wide. I plan to use a concrete lintel for each wall/skin with 100mm either side. Will use a fire door and lining. The wall doesn't seem to support anything other than the bricks above it (its the end of a bungalow) and there is enough height to allow a step or two into garage. Am i missing anything major or does the above sound suitable to proceed?
