Are Thermostatic Valves Required With Newly Installed Combi Boiler?

Just had the boiler replaced, with a combi

The plumber didn't put Thermostatic valves, left the old ones.

Is this right?

Hi home owner

I would expect the installer to bring the system up to standard, but that depends on what controls you already have, and the system design.
Presumably he didn't quote to change the valves.
