Babygate and crumbling wall

Post by Makingahashofit » Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:41 pm

Hello - I have attempted to hang a baby gate at the top of our stairs [we're in an old 1890's stone house], the top hinge has drilled in fine but the bottom hinge is drilling into crumbling stone and cavity inside the wall is now getting larger and larger due to the pressure and force of the wall plug being moved by the gate. I don't know if I should try and fill the hole and then drill into it again or...

Thanks

Hi makingahashofit
Easiest and quickest to fill the hole with epoxy anchor set and push your fixings in it before it sets.
