Post by penfold369 » Sun Dec 14, 2008 6:32 pm

Hi
When servicing a raditor the header tank drained as the ball cock was stuck shut. The headertank now has water in it but the raditors are not getting hot despite bleeding them till no air comes out, there is also no water coming out the top bleed valves either any idears ?
thanks

Have you checked that the ball valve is still working OK?
Is the header tank still full?
If it is, you will blead all the air from each radiator until you have water spraying out.
Blead with the system cranked up to max and the heating and pump running.

Disagree I'm afraid, bleeding rads - system off.

could be a blockage on the feed and expansion tank that is causing no water to get to the rads.

if so: hose pipe on safety vent (expansion pipe if you like) and either blow very hard or attach other end of pipe to tap and send some mains water through it.

keep us updated.

AH.
