Bathroom extractor fan stopped working

by mattyg83 » Thu Jul 30, 2009 8:56 pm

Hi,

In my bathroom I have a Vent-Axia Solo Plus Lowatt extractor fan that has recently stopped working. When it was working it would turn on a couple of minutes after the light was turned on (pull cord) and stay on for several minutes after the light was turned off.

The fan then turned on as normal but turned off as soon as the light was turned off. Now it won't even turn on, although a couple of minutes after the light is turned on, the fan clicks as if it is trying to turn on.

I have cleaned the filter and also removed (and cleaned) the cover and cannot see any loose wires. The fan is only about 18 months old at the most as I live in a new build flat.

If anyone has any suggestions I will be more than happy to listen!

Thanks

mattyg83,
Most likely cause is the controller in the extractor has failed - replace the whole unit.
