Bathroom lights not working after switch tripped

by cjmax80 » Sun May 11, 2008 9:11 pm

Hello,

I am having problems with the lights in my bathroom. The problem started when the lights were on and it seemed as though one of the lights blew and the fuse tripped. After resetting the fuse none of the three ligths worked. The lights still didn't work after replacing all of the lamps.

I have then tested the circuit and there is power present at each light, and this changes with the switch being on and off. The lights are three halogen downlighters, with 240v 50W GU10 lamps in them. I have no idea what has gone wrong, so any help in understanding what is wrong would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Chris

From your description I would suspect a neutral wire has become disconnected. Either at bathroom light or light in room before bathroom on light circuit. Being a bathroom could even be at fan etc.
