Baxi 105HE combi boiler - changing radiator valve

Post by exbbc » Thu Nov 29, 2007 12:54 pm

Can anyone help?

I had a Baxi combi boiler 105 installed a year ago and it is working very well.

I need now to install a thermostatic valve on one of the radiators, but taking off the old valve will open up the pressured heating system. I would have the same problem if any of the radiator valves sprung a leak!

The installer is now very difficult to contact - is there a control on the boiler to isolate the CH pipes so that the heating system can be opened without any pressure?

On my old boiler I put a stop valve in the feed pipe and the resulting airlock kept the water from flowing out. Not recommended because later some DIYer will forget to turn back on the stop valve and blow up the system.
