Bedroom Door Latch not Going in?

by Rosscohen » Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:47 am

Hi there,

My bedroom door latch does not go all the way in even when the handle is fully turned. Please can someone suggest a solution to make it go all the way in as it makes it very difficult to open and close the door. It is a normal door handle .
Thanks
Ross

Most of them don't go all the way in. You will have to rebate the striker plate in a bit deeper by the looks. If it's just catching a fraction you may be able to just tap in the plate a bit with hammer and a block of wood "as not to scratch the plate" and then tighten the two screws holding it in.
