Best Filler for 1/2 Inch Gap Where Skirting Meets

Postby TS45 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 2:31 pm

Looking to full a gap between 2 skirting boards that nearly need in corner – there is a gap of about ½ inch. Any ideas on how to fill this?
Am i best using filler or actually cutting a bit of wood and fitting it in?
Are there any expandable foams or similar that are available on the market and which i could paint over?
Many thanks!

A bit of wood wedged in is always a good base for filling-foam is handy on big gaps but can be a little 'bodgy'-if you leave the wood 5mm ish deeper than skirt face you can stick some 2-part wood filler on, then sand and prime it half an hour later-the two part is also very shapeable to you can profile match your skirts and no-one will ever know!
