Best Way to increase the rebate size on wooden windows?

Post by jawjaw » Sun Aug 10, 2008 5:13 pm

I have wooden windows fitted with 14mm thick double glazed units. I need to increase the size of the rebate to take a thicker more modern double glazed unit.

Please has anyone got some good idea on on how to do this other than use a hammer and chisel?

Use a tool called a feign multimaster or the cheaper bosch version. This will be able to cut out the wood easier than a chisel. Lots of videos on youtube showing how it works.

You dont say how big you want t o open it up to so im guessing with this answer.
