bi fold door

i`ve recelntly bought a bo fold door which is 2 and a half inches two wide. It becomes hollow after about half an inch. Does anybody know if its easier to plane or saw or just by a smaller door? Many thanks

Either buy a new door or saw off the edge of the door strip the panelling off the offcut and glue this back into the door edge.
