bits in my shower water

by lmcc » Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:12 pm

When I turn my shower on and let it run there is sometimes peices in it about the no bigger than my fingernail size - slight brown tinge. when touched it feels a bit like wall paper paste. Anyone an ideas please.

What type of shower do you have ? electric, combi thermostatic, tank fed mixer shower ?

Have you tried removing the hose and shower head, give them a good clean with hot soapy water, it could just be limescale from the shower head.

I think my shower is a tank fed shower. the pipes from behind the shower go through the wall and up into the roof where there is a large water storage tank and a smaller one up slightly higher.

Yes it does - but it shouldn't be getting out because unless it's seriously contaminated that suggests that the tank is insufficiently sized!!!

What size is it? Has it got a lid on?

Cheers
