Boiler making grinding noises on start-up

by klee » Fri Jan 01, 2010 10:52 am

Happy New Year!

Been tackling a boiler issue for several months now but with still no success. Boiler has 5 heaters with mircobore pipes. During start-up of the boiler, the boiler makes some loud grinding / 'tin' noises on and off for about the first 10 - 15 mins. I've had a few companies out but the problem is still there. We've flushed the system, changed the pump. Another company said it was the mircobore which was causing the problem and bigger pipes were to be fitted. No companies have said it was the boiler that was faulty. Any advice would be great.

The trouble is that neither I nor anybody else on here can hear it. You've had a number of peeps round who, presumably, have and they don't know what it is.

Can you describe it a bit better please?

Cheers
