Boiler not getting water hot enough

Post by Winner » Fri Apr 10, 2009 11:19 am

Hello
I have a pressurised central heating system with one pump, 3 control valves, pressurised cylinder and an Ideal Classic FF350 boiler. I have had the system about 3 years (since moving into this house). I have noticed a significant drop in water temperature and heating temperature over the last few weeks. I have turned the boiler up to max with no significant change in temperature. I have also noticed that when the controller is calling for hot water or heating the gas lights in the boiler then after a while the gas cuts out and the boiler keeps on trying to relight itself (sparking continuously with no ignition). This I am sure is the temp problem but what is shutting off the gas and stopping the gas from relighting?
Hope you can help
Cheers
