Boiler not Heating Hot Water - Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler

Postby JP1248 » Fri Jan 31, 2014 3:13 pm

Can anyone advise on why my Baxi Bermuda back boiler with a gravity feed system has stopped heating my water. When I put the programmer on hot water only it will heat the radiators and only very minimally heat the water in the hot water tank. Even putting the immersion heater on this will still not heat all of the tank. The HW tank is not scaled up as I have had a water softener for a number of years.

Hi, the early Baxis used only gravity to push hot water round the system and a pump for the central heating so this could be an air lock somewere assuming you have the thermostat on the water tank up high enough. It could also be some sludge in the heating coil You could try looking at the header tank in the loft to make sure there is water in there or if the ball valve is stuck shut. Turn the heating pump off when you just want how water to see if this makes any difference.
