Breeze block houses vs brick built

by bedsitdriver » Wed Jun 29, 2011 3:40 pm

Are breeze block built houses as secure as brick built? I am thinking of buying a small house which is built of breeze blocks and I want to be sure of its strength and whether it will last before I go further. It is built into the side of a hill as a bungalow with a partly exposed basement running throughout the building. It seems from photos that the exposed part of the basement is faced with stone or could even be built from stone. I have not visited it yet because of the distance involved.

The estate agent cannot tell me what sort of breeze blocks were used.
