cable caught

by tsb » Tue Oct 23, 2007 8:16 pm

While taking some floorboards up in order to run pipes I've accidently caught the shower cable with the saw blade. Its only just caught the neutral cable but has gone through the black outer insulation and you can just see the copper wire. Whats the best way to fix this. Is it, cut the cable and put in a junction box to reconnect the cable or would wrapping the cable with insulation tape be ok. If These two methods are no good , what is please?

u need 2 replace completely the damaged cable , from mains board
to shower pull cord or double pole switch.
this is not part p notifiable. would be wise though 2 get an electrician 2
check earth loop and insulation resistance tests.
he should NOT charge u much if u explain the situation and r genuine.
