Can plug sockets be painted?

:( Help!

DIYs nearly finished, mobile-home's almost ready for renting but I still have some (needed) French sockets showing and need to paint them. Is it possible? I've been told it isn't....

You might be able to get the enamel paint ( The kind used for models ) to stick Linda but make sure you turn off all electrics first.
