Fistly, can anyone confirm that 100 year old cast iron downpipe is 80mm
Just had a builder along to replace 2/3 of my down pipe. He promised that it would be same as the original cast iron.
Instead he has fitted a reducer 80 mm to 68mm and finished in the thinner pipe.
It looks awful - problem is exaccerbated by the fact the pipe was always part recessed into the render - a stupid system, and his 2/3 of plastic pipe is sitting well proud of the wall.
I'm going to have to take apart his work and ty to do it myself.
can I get 80mm plastic downpipe, if indeed this is the correct size I should be googling. Assume I can get straight couplings if so and I'll take if from there.
