Central heating fault

Post by alanchandler » Tue Nov 27, 2007 7:32 pm

I have a conventional central heating sytem with hot water tank. Ive found that when both water and heating are on, some radiatoirs never get warm. Also the boiler only stays on for short bursts. If I swicth off water all radiators get warm and the boiler seems to operate to the room thermostat.
Any assistance would be greatly appreaciated

Alan

If you switch heating off and draw hot water, do any of the radiators start to warm up? You might need to leave the HW running for a few minutes to find out.

If they do heat up, sounds like a faulty diverter valve.
