Central Heating - Permanent running water "sound"

Hi Chaps, first post so bear with me please!!!!

As above, only when the hot water is swiched on not the heating there is a permanent running water sound, there is no leaks, no over flowing etc etc just the bloody annoying noise. Any ideas?????

This is an airlock, and the noise is water trickling through the pipe.

Half way down the cylinder are two pipes which bring hot water from the boiler to heat the water in the cylinder. Somewhere in these pipes should be a small bleed nipple. If you can find it and drain off the air, the noise should stop.
