central heating problem

hi there,been in my house around 4 years now with no probs with the heating til now,wot it is is when i switch a hot tap on my radiators start heating up all round the house and do not knock off ,there is also a strange whirling noise which last around 2 seconds coming from the system every 5-10mins?,the boiler is a baxi(dont know model no)i dont use a timer on it,the knob is pointing to the tap+radiators at the min,if i put it to the just tap it still does it,please help,i hav switch all my radiators down to zero so my house is not like an oven,even as i type it is making that noise,it is quite loud

Hi, sounds like your zone valve has a fault in it. The valve should move to HW only but sounds as if it is stuck in the HW and HTG position. You need a new mid position zone valve and someone to fit it.
