central heating pump positioning

by pops » Thu Dec 13, 2007 8:36 pm

Is there on optimum placement for the pump in an indirect twin pipe central heating system ? It was originally positioned under the floorboards downstairs, close to the back boiler. Having had it updated, it is now upstairs in the airing cupboard next to the hot water cylinder.

The pump can go anywhere between the boiler and the load. Be aware how the pump itself needs fitting to avoid excessive wear. Just be careful not to miss any T's to rads otherwise they won't get hot.
