Chairs and porcelain tiles don't mix!

Post by Jdonovan » Sun Mar 27, 2011 4:27 pm

Hi,

We have just finished laying a polished porcelain floor in the kitchen and dining room. Went down very easily. However, wooden chair legs squeak as they move over the floor. We put 'Felt Gard' pads on the legs of the chairs and the table and for a short while (about a day) the pads worked. What happens then is that they seem to get squeezed out from under the legs and fall off leaving a gluey trail across the floor which is awful to get off. these pads are useless but we need to solve the problem. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

You can buy rubber feet to screw onto the bottom of each leg. They are about 1/4 inch thick and are recessed in the middle so the screw head does not scratch the floor.

I know Homebase sell them, and would expect other chains such as BnQ to also stock them, so should be easy to find.

Kenj,

Thanks a million for this. Here's hoping!
