Chalky substance on wall - potential radiator leak?

by 04williamsl » Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:14 am

I had a white, chalky substance on one side of an interior wall. On the other side of the wall, there's a radiator (an almost floor to ceiling radiator).

The white chalk is smack bang in the middle of the radiator, but low to the ground.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on if this is likely a radiator pipe leaking? Radiator and pipe work has only been in for 2-3 years, wall hasn't been damaged or knocked.

Oe is it likely to be something else? Paint has only been on it for 3-4months or so. Could it be something to do with the paint?

Hi 04williamsl
If there are pipes in the wall at this point a leak in them is the most likely cause.
