changing a switch

hi again this may sound crazy but i hav a freind who wants to change a two way switch into a one way switch as he already has a one way switch that operates one light in living room and a two way switch that also operates the living room light( as well )as a dining room light but as he he has now knocked thru to make one big room hes bought a matching 1 gang one way switch to match the light fitting in living room which hes obsessed with fitting altho its not worth the hassle can it be changed if so wats the best way to do it THANX for any advise bazza
