changing from pendant lighting to spotlight

hi i am changing my pendant lighting to a 3 plate spotlight however my spot only has 3 terminals and my pendant has nine, am i right in thinking i attach all the live and all the neutral into there own terminals?

you need to put the switch wire in a terminal of its own. the switch wire will be the one that is connected to the same terminal as the live on the pendant fitting (put abit of tape on this cable to identify this cable). all the neutrals and earths should be connected together. the 3 terminals u have are live, neutral and switch live. an earth terminal should be present aswell. but if not just put the earth cables into connector blocks. gd luck

read your answer again please! im sure you didn't mean
"all earths & neutrals should be connected together"!

I'm sure you know what you meant but it reads very misleading to the OP

sorry but we have to be very carefull when answering not to assume knowledge levels.
